Adam & Amy

Adam & Amy were married at The Tailrace Centre on January 21st. I knew when I first met them to talk anout their wedding that it was going to be good – simple, intimate and fuss-free. Neither of them had any attendants apart from Amy’s nephews being the ringbearers, so cute! The weather came through for us, giving us quite a warm day – we were very thankful for the breeze off the river that afternoon.

After a short ceremony and family photos, the guests went inside for drinks while Adam, Amy and I wandered around the grounds of The Tailrace Cente for some photos. I love the photos we got because they are simple yet gorgeous, and we even got some dancing and butt-squeezing in there (no, not mine!)

The bottles of wine were a labour of love (and maybe a few tears!) for Amy, and for their table centrepieces they had tall wide clear vases filled with water and two red roses. Loved it! Simple and elegant.

Congratulations Adam & Amy, I know you two will have a wonderful life together. And another huge thank you for my bottle of Josef Chromy wine – I told you hubby would think I stopped at the bottle shop after seeing you!

Toni & Danny

January saw me and the family head over to Queenstown for the wedding of Toni & Danny. I was a little worried about the weather but come Saturday, the rain had let up and it was looking promising. We were lying in bed in our hotel room Saturday morning when the whole room shook! We realised we’d just experienced our first earth tremor! It registered about 2.6 I think it was on the Richter scale. No more of those, thank you very much! lol The kids weren’t fazed at all.

I met Toni for the first time later that morning at the hairdressers. It was then that I knew we were going to have a great day. This woman had a gorgeous smile and a great laugh – we were gonna have some fun today! It also helped that she was a passionate Holden girl, just check out that garter!

Have I mentioned yet that I loved this wedding? The ceremony was held in a friend’s gorgeous little garden, right across the road from the abandoned abattoir in a field of tiny little yellow flowers! There was Holden grunt, a couple of sheds and then we went to Iron Blow, which what was originally mined for gold turned into a huge copper mine. Then for the reception, it was back to the footy club. A good old-fashioned country wedding.

Toni & Danny, thank you so much for letting me hang out with you guys on your wedding day. It was so much fun and I wish your family happiness and love always xx

Hello Everyone. We are Colin and Irma Van Eck and were married on 6 November 2011. Tanya has taken the best photos ever and we want to publicly thank her for the wonderful job she did.

When we got the photo album it was brilliant. The way she set up the album and captured the essence of the wedding is just the way we wanted it. Again it is fantastic.

Also just the fun we had organising our elopement with Tanyas help was even better and it really ended up that instead of having a photographer in Tassie, we ended up having a friend. The organising the photos and the fun after getting the photos has just made the experience too wonderful for words.

Colin & Irma

Colin & Irma eloped from Darwin on November 6th. Colin organised everything for the wedding and I could tell from our phone calls he was a bit cheeky and this was going to be a great wedding!

As they were eloping, they borrowed the Sunday Church Service and congregation of the Pilgrim Uniting Church in Launceston for their ceremony. We were totally embraced by the Church and it was one of the most wonderful ceremonies I have ever witnessed.

Afterwards, we walked around town for a couple of photos before heading up to Dove Lake at Cradle Mountain where Colin had proposed to Irma a few years earlier.

These two are perfect for each other! All I had to do for the photos was put them together and they did the rest. The love they have for each other is beautiful, and Irma can certainly hold her own with the cheekiness of Colin!

I look forward to seeing them the next time they come to Tasmania – I owe Colin a couple of digs over an email he sent and yes, he knows he’s in trouble! lol

Katie & Richard

Katie & Richard were married at Bellerive Oval (now Bludstone) on October 16th. Their gorgeous little dog Gizmo was the ringbearer for a small ceremony of close family and friends. The weather Gods were kind enough to hold the rain back after the ceremony so we could head outside for some photos. I wish these two alot of love and happiness and hope to see you both again in the not-too-distant future for some photos of a different kind…..stay tuned

On August 18th I travelled down to Hobart’s Royal Botanical Gardens to shoot the elopement of Jenny & Dave, who had come all the way from Perth, Western Australia. They arrived in Tassie with Dave’s parents under the rouse of a holiday and it wasn’t until the day before that Shirley and Peter found out that they’d be the witnesses and sole guests at their son’s wedding. Jenny looked stunning in her silver dress (yes Dave you looked nice too!) and it was a beautiful ceremony in the Conservatory – we were even visited by the ducks who were wondering what all the fuss was about. I’d organised a cake by The Cupcake Fairy for Jenny and Dave, and they, Dave’s parents, Jill Harper (the celebrant) and her husband and myself thoroughly enjoyed getting into that!

Thankfully the rain Gods were good to us as we wandered around the gardens afterwards. As you can see, we had a little bit of baggage and I couldn’t NOT take a pic of Peter and Shirley together also, they were so cute!

Congratulations on your wedding Jenny and Dave. I’m glad to hear everybody was happy for you when you returned home (not even their kids knew the reason for their Tassie trip!) and I wish you all the love and happiness in the world. Give us a yell if you ever venture back down here, I’d love to catch up with you again. xx

Jenna, Aaron, Levi & Jaxon

Meet Levi and Jaxon. They are the nephews of Jade and Johnny, who married in February this year.

Levi and Jaxon’s parents, Jenna and Aaron, were supposed to be at Jade and Johnny’s wedding, but their two little boys had other ideas. Fifteen weeks into the pregnancy, Jenna started experiencing complications, which led them to being admitted to the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. Jenna and Aaron watched Jade and Johnny’s wedding via Skype. It was a very emotional broadcast for everyone involved. Six days after the wedding, the boys were born, twelve weeks early. Jaxon weighed 3lb1oz and Levi only 1lb3oz. Levi needed blood transfusions and underwent heart surgery as you can see from the little scar on his back. These boys are gorgeous and their parents are truly amazing, as are their support network of family and friends. I feel very honoured that I could take these photos of Jaxon and Levi at sixteen weeks old, or four weeks corrected, and I look forward to taking some more soon. xx

Chris & Angie chose Angie’s 40th birthday, which just also happened to be Easter Saturday, for their wedding at Strathlyn at Rosevears. As this was the second wedding for both of them, they chose to have their photos taken BEFORE the ceremony, which was to be followed by an intimate lunch with family and friends. The cake was made by a friend who no longer makes wedding cakes due to their all-consuming nature and I think it is the most beautiful cake I have ever seen.

Unfortunately, it was all gone by the time Chris & Angie returned from their month-long honeymoon through England and France and I met up with them to give them their wedding photos (bit jealous about both of those things! lol). I wish these two every happiness for the future and I’m proud to say I’m going to be there to see it as I’ve made a true friend in Angie. xx
